Frequently Asked Questions
I am not an employee/I do not get my insurance through the hospital, can I still get my prescriptions here?
Absolutely! We accept most major insurance plans. Currently, we are unable to accept Aetna or Medicare Part B.
How can I pay for my prescriptions?
We currently accept cash, checks, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), Apple Pay, and Android Pay. Employees may purchase FSA eligible OTC products and prescriptions with their FSA cards. Employees may also use payroll deduction to purchase OTC products and prescriptions. We are unable to add the cost of discharge medications to your hospital bill.
Can someone else pick up my medication?
Yes, but they will need to know your name, date of birth, and address.
I need a medication printout for insurance purposes. What do I need to do?
If the printout is for you, stop by the pharmacy and present a legal form of identification (we will accept an employee ID for an employee of HMC). If the printout is for a family member and they are over 18, they need to come in person with a legal form of ID or they can fill out a Disclosure Authorization (see FORMS) to allow another individual to pick up the records. If the printout if for a dependent under the age of 18, the parent/guardian must provide a legal form of identification.
I want a prescription filled at HMC Rx Care, but it is at another pharmacy, how can I get it transfered?
Just let us know in person or over the phone which pharmacy the medications are at and which medications are needing to be filled.
How much will my prescription cost?
If a patient does not have insurance, we can quote a cash price. If a patient has insurance, we are unable to quote a price on the insurance without first having received the prescription. We are unable to run test claims due to legal reasons. Also, due to the many different PBMs, the variety of prescription plans, and individual deductibles we are unable to accurately estimate co-pays.
Do you administer vaccines?
We are able to administer vaccines. Please contact us regarding availability and pricing.
I am at the hospital, but I am not feeling well and could use an OTC product, where do I go?
We have a wide selection of OTC products including: pain relievers, allergy medication, vitamins, supplements, probiotics, cold & flu products, first aid, stomach care, oral & eye care, hygiene & feminine products, and pill boxes and splitters. Don't see what you need? We have even more products behind the counter. If we don't have it, we can try to order it for you. We typically receive orders the next business day.
Can I prepay my prescription online?
We currently only accept payment at the pharmacy.
What if I forgot to pick up my prescription at the indicated time?
We will hold you prescription for seven days. If you've forgotten to pick up your prescription in this time, call us and we'll be happy to refill it.
Can you help me with Medicare Part D questions?
Yes, we have trained Medicare Part D professionals on staff.
If I have no refills remaining, can I still request a refill online?
Yes, we will contact your physician for you to request a refill. You will be required to enter your phone number so we may contact you at a later time.
If I order my prescription now, when will it be ready for pickup?
When requesting a refill online, you will receive a confirmation which will include the estimated time your prescription will be ready.
